Graphic Design - III Major Project / Primary research - Real dental practice

Hello everyone!

This will discuss my primary research about dental surgery. Objectives are to find out who target market is for and what is important for a successful surgery. At the begin I'll tell a bit about dental practice where I did primary research.
I spoke with Dr Gabriela Szczerbuk from Corby Polish Medical Center. She is a main dentist in this clinic with specialisation in dental aesthetics, periodontics and child dentistry.

This dental clinic offers a wide range of medical services not only dental service, such as family medical and gynaecology. I managed to determine that the age range of people who use dental services in this comes is very big. Elderly and small children use a professional dental care in the above-mentioned clinic. In addition, to identify the largest group of people is between the ages of 26 and 48 years. Analysing this age group it does not surprised because, in my opinion it is the largest group of Poles living in the United Kingdom.

I will go to the analysis of a smaller age group that are children and students. In this case, the disease has been increasing for several years, the clinic noticed the growth of younger ones patients. Probably this is due to the fact that Poles come to UK with children or Poles live here decide to establish families.

I'll go to another point of my research is a nationality of patients. In this case majority of them are The Poles. I'm not surprised because it is obvious that it is better to communicate with a specialist in your own language( I know that sometimes it is quite difficult to communicate on health issues in English.). The second national group that most often uses the services of the clinic is East European (Slovakians, Czechs, Russians, Lithuanians, Romanians, Bulgarians). The next national group has been increased regularly over the past many years is British and local inhabitants.

''Virtually all week, including weekends, you can use the services of a Polish dentist, gynaecologist or family doctor / paediatrician. Each doctor is involved in the individual needs of the patient. The Polish clinic we run is a place where both children and adults can count on help. Painless dental treatment, correct diagnosis of the family doctor, support for women struggling with female ailments? Welcome to our Polish clinic in Corby, patients who live in Kettering, Wellingborough, Northampton, Peterborough and all Northamptonshire'' (Szczerbuk, 2019)

The clinic has many conveniences such as a private free car park, own pharmacy, a card payment available and a special place for small children.

''We believe that the excellent quality of medical services does not have to go hand in hand with a high price. That is why in our clinic we offer the highest quality private medical care at prices for all budgets.'' (Szczerbuk, 2019)

According to my analysis and opinions, this is because the quality and wide of services provided by outpatient clinics is increasing regularly. Thanks to the enormous experience and education of Polish doctors, this clinic is an example of the perfect success of running a dental clinic, 24/7 care even during the bank holidays while normal market prices causes huge interest of new patients.

After this research, I can stated that the most important thing for the clinic and the doctors who work there is the safety and satisfaction of the patient with the help received there. Trust is extremely valuable when we allow ourselves to put a dental drill in the mouth. An individual approach and concern for the patient testifies to the services provided by specialists.
All these things argue to success in running a dental clinic.

Graphic Design - III Major Project / Early Dental History - Research

Yo !

In this post I will look at early dental history started from 5000 BC. According to blog about dental care allarounddentalcare in that time it was quite funny because people believed that tooth decay are caused by “tooth worms” conviction persevered for quite a long time and in various societies. Medications included attempting to bait out the worm with nectar and enchantment spells and mixtures.

https://www.allarounddentalcare.com/blog/a-fun-timeline-of-early-dental-history/

Over the years, people have been more convinced to treat all the teeth for a more arduous time. It was not until 2600 BC that the person who first dealt with the treatment of teeth was noted. He was named “the greatest of those who deal with teeth, and of physicians.” (allarounddentalcare, 2018)
In the later years, the first fillings of teeth in China were noted. And in subsequent epochs (16th century and 18th century) information about the first dentists who cured differentiated by more expensive methods was archived. Several books have been written about the treatment of teeth and their care.

In my opinion, teeth need to be healed and care for them every day to care for them. Neglected to lead to many diseases that can even lead to the loss of life.

Graphic Design - III Major Project / Dental Surgery - Interior Design - Changes in dental clinics over the years

Hey!

In this post I am going to look at history of interior design of dental clinics over the years. Furthermore, I will look at nowadays dental clinics to analyse design and  I will draw appropriate conclusions to design my own Dental Clinic - Zebra. It will be my first time in interior design so I am not going to design whole building, just a waiting hall. Moreover, my dental surgery is a local businesses, not big company. I will keep focus on inside design, not a unnecessary elements like a furniture or similar things.

https://melnickmedicalmuseum.com/exhibits/doctors-and-dentists-offices/

According to the blog of Melnick Medical Museum during the turn of the twentieth century now seems completely unfamiliar to us just because during those time medication was difficult to take care of the people. As a the same time medication was getting to learn and training people with more  outstanding people from different counties and medication was coming out more affection to the people during the hospital or dental clinic care. At all the time people had to watch and see doctors doing everything to the patients. ones the medication and qualification was changing during that time everything was much better with the people and places. The specialist's office of the 1930 was very not quite the same as that when the new century rolled over. After 1910, the specialist's office changed radically, which is most usually connected to the aftereffect of the act of a sepsis and full comprehension of the germ hypothesis of illness. Presently, it was fundamental to have an office that could be kept clean and germ free, which is reflected in the presence of the workplace.  Office floors were commonly highly contrasting trimmed tile with a marbled impact on the grounds that it was light and clean. Regardless of whether in a private office and counselings room, a changing area, a business office, spaces for non-intrusive treatment medications, and a looking at room. The substance of the analogising room are: stool, inspecting table, floor light, instrument cupboard, scale, sink, and waste repository.  Research centre hard care can be seen over the table. An electric sterility for cleaning instruments likewise shows up, which bears witness to the new comprehension of the germ hypothesis.

Let's look at screenshot above to analyse early years of 90's interior design. As we can see the place has been changes massively from nearly nothing to outstanding room take care of people in dental clinic. People may prerequisite of doctors taking care of patients during the dental interference to teeth by specialist.

Let's move to another modern dental clinics in present. I look at modern interior design of dental practice, as a example I choose INTERIOR DESIGN DENTAL CLÍNIC BEATRIZ RUBIO 02 .
https://www.santacreudesign.com/en/project/interior-design-dental-clinic-beatriz-rubio-02/

This clinic has been designed by Santacreu Design studio. During the turn of the present century dental practices have changed diametrically as we can see from my prospective everything has been changed. Such as interviewer, equipment, progress of setting, progress of better taking care of teeth. after those changed has been make a massive progress towards dental clients around the world. dental clinks offer many appointment to start caking yourself to the clinic to without hurting people that the are scared of dental they wont fell anything because medication has been changed diametric.

Analysing another one modern dental clinic we have the impression that we have moved into the future looking at the early years of the 21st century. We propose not just widespread structure for instance, dental seat for the wheelchair moving smooth and quit around the room, yet in addition space for children with customary "tatami" tangle, which is likewise well-known to elderly folks individuals. For this space, we made glass divider between inspecting room, to keep the guardians eyes to the children. TV on the wall to make people to the clinic much better confident. Automatic door open and lights up ones people walk pass and better lightnings during the night time as well.
Manual dental chair move smooth up and down. Better organisation of the places and using a free space to fill them with things such as playtime for children dental lights on the top wall.

In next post I will show process of designing interior design dental clinic 'Zebra'.

Graphic Design - III Major Project / Logo design part 2 - colour pallet | Final logo design

Hey!

In this post I am going to explain why I decided to colour logo. I have used five colours from blue palette. I used these colours because they dominate in other similar logo designs and blue colour dominate in projects related to dental clinics.

Blue colour dominate in many dental companies and producers of materials for the care of teeth or mouth. it may depend on the fact that the blue colour presents freshness, purity and a breath of summer breeze. As a example I took toothpaste Aquafresh-All-In-One-Protection-Pasta. As we can see blue colour dominate in products of this company.

I decided to use not exactly blue colour, I used a little different shadows of blue connected with green. In result I have a some kind of turquoise colour.

I hope that the effect of applying this colour and not exactly the blue one will cause my brand to emerge from the crowd of many blue dental clinics and their products or products to taking care of tooth.

To overlay these colours in my logo I have used gradient tool in Photoshop.

Below you can see my final outcome of logo design for my dental practice.

To overlay this effect on my logo I have used blending options in ps as on screen below:

Furthermore, I used free tools for designers to pick up a colour palette. In the internet we can find a various range of free tools for designers. Those tools are very helpful if someone just starting adventure with designing marketing materials, logos, websites and staff like that. I have used  https://coolors.co

I am happy with my final outcome of logo, I have asked my friend Age about a little feedback about the logo, she represent medical facility of our uni. She said that logo has correct colours which dominate in medical industry and is very nice. In this case I can say that she has a bit experience with medical industry because she has finished medical high school in Poland before she came to DMU.

I have one thing which should be improved in the future. The description 'dental practice' I could move a little bit down, it's too close to name of this surgery, but despite this logo is designed well.

Graphic Design - III Major Project / Logo design

Hello!
In this post I am going to show you how I have designed logo for my dentist practice.

In previous post I have shown  you which images I wanted to connected together.
Those images are tooth and zebra. It is simple way to show simple and modern design of logo.
I opened new huge document in Illustrator - I am going to work with vectors not as in previous term just in Photoshop on graphics. So in clear document I pasted my tooth from google, it is just a view photo to see sharp of teeth.

After pasted photo into new file in illustrator, I blocked my image using Ctrl + 2, after block picture, you can not move it by accident. In next step, I started draw my tooth using simple tools available in illustrator. Those tools are called  'Bézier curve' or 'Pen tool kit'.

As you can see on screenshot above whole tools which I have used over the tooth.

In next part of design this logo I decided to add circle around tooth.

This an action changed a tooth to looks nicer and more effective on different backgrounds. I have added sharps on my tooth like zebra has.
https://sciencing.com/characteristics-zebra-8001369.html
I just created one line which looks like a line on zebra, after that I copied and modified it.
Below you can see the outcome tooth with zebras on it. Also you are able to see which tools I ahve used to do that.

Let's go to adding the inscription to my logo, I have added a name of my dental practice 'Zebra'
Furthermore, I decided to add a little title 'dental practice' or 'dental care' to solve the doubts of the person, whose institution is the logo.

To this I have used font available in Windows is called 'Century Gothic', I have modified it by rounding the edges. Before did that I had changed normal font for curves.

I rounded curves because I wanted to show smooth flows in a font, which for the ordinary recipient can mean that all problems with the teeth in the clinic are solving without problems, painlessly and comfort for a patient.

I just added little tittle 'dental practice'.
Below final outcome which presenting logo in few designs. Remember this is still the same logo in a few version available to use by customer.

I am quite happy with final outcome, I like it. The logo is presenting very well, on a first look you already know that is a dentist. Maybe the sharpness of the tooth is not drawn perfectly, I should keep more focus on a softer transition between the curves.

Graphic Design - III Major Project / Another logo research / Thinking about name - slogan / other aspects

Hey!

I this research I looked at works another artist eightyLOGOS. Designer has designed a dental logo. In this case we can see that artist followed in his design a logo an inseparable part of the design is in the shape of a tooth. Analysis this design I notice that blue colour palette dominate in every medical or dentist, also I have mention that in previous post. Furthermore, the sharp of tooth is smooth, probably it has been designed by brazier curves. According to Blog about Bazier(2018), those tools are available in Illustrator and means parametric curve commonly used in design programs for CAD engineering, creation of a vector graphic, character forms in computer fonts and systems and vector graphics. Coming back to logo design, except that sharp of tooth, we can see something on the middle inside logo. I supposed it presents a smile, it is additional element of dental.

Smile is an inseparable part of dental advertisements I can assume that many designers use the right illusions of smiles in dental projects. Probably in various version, as well as on the logo and in the pictures on the advertisements are posted people with a beautiful smile. I also do not want to leave this trend in my advertisements, I will develop them by using my own photos, presenting beautifully smiling models.

In next part of this post, I'll do analysis of my name for dental practice. Did I choose right name for it? And I'll think how I can made is stand out from other practices in Leicester area. So, basically I wanted something that gets in the ear and is easy to remember by the recipients/audiences. I think that the name 'Zebra dental practice' is very suitable for this, it is memorable. Moreover, I wanted to people to do not think what the business is. They should not think or wonder that what my project is and what they can get there.  I think that name of it is clear for everyone, you do not need to wonder what the businesses offers - dental service or tires swap. I consider also good practice for local SEO and online marketing, because I have included necessary words to help people identify and find my local dentist practice - without hesitation.

In addition, the name I chose is associated by people with animals, which is obvious fact. In my opinion it is a rather friendly animal and I do not associate with something bad. The second aspect of Zebra is a pedestrian crossing on roads which is called 'zebra', this also a positive aspect because we can safety cross the streets.

To conclude, I think that this name which I have choose for dental practice is good. I am happy with my choice, some people could discuss that this name is right for that kind of businesses, but your own satisfaction with your own works is probably the most important thing in the life of successful advertiser.

Graphic Design - III Major Project / Research Dental practice logo

Hey!

Research has been done by me about logo for dentist or dentist care / practice. I am going to discus and analysing other logos and others designers and designer studios.

At first glance, the logo flies from LOGO company. It is a dental clinic logo as below:

https://www.logodesign.co.uk/new-logo-for-r-dental-clinic/

As we see this logo as well include sharp of tooth. I think it is very important to always combine the logo with the appropriate elements that the company or organisation is dealing with.
Inside tooth we see letter R this is probably name of that clinic - R dental clinic. In this case, letter R make a sens of insert it into tooth. Tooth is very smooth without any sharp edges which is good I think, the sharp edges are not modern and designers strive to smooth the edges in their branding projects. This logo also include more then 3 colours. Those pallet of colours has mainly shadows of blue and green - turquoise.

https://graphicriver.net/item/dental-logo/20941908

Let's look at other dental care logos. I picked another one logo  - Dental Logo. I really like design of this logo, especially I like the smooth but whimsical fluidity of the lines in there. It is very simple and modern, now I think graphics 2D become trendy and 3d logos are becoming a thing of the past. Who knows maybe in the future they come back in a big way.

According to my tutor's commentary below this post I would like to add a little commentary. I have more logo research in next posts. Moreover, I did research about NHS, NHS does not provide dental services directly, it provides them through cooperation with private clinics by reimbursement of treatment costs. This task is not the subject I should analyse because it deals with design the branding based on the suggestions made by the client, not the marketing of the companies.
